B.R.A.I.N. is an international organization of leading brain tumor scientists and supporting organizations, created to increase the pace, breadth, and depth of scientific endeavor in the field of brain tumor research and therapy.

Concurrent with the 2007 International Glioma Conference will be the official launch of B.R.A.I.N, an unprecedented collaboration of the scientific and philanthropic sectors focused on more effectively and comprehensively identifying the causes of and treatments for tumors of the nervous system and promoting brain tumor awareness on a national and international scale. B.R.A.I.N. members have been selected based on a record of significant contributions to the field of brain tumor research.

Nearby beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, will be the venue for this first meeting and will set the benchmark for future annual meetings. On Friday, October 12, following the afternoon session, Challenges in Funding for Brain Tumor Research: Competition Versus Collaboration, B.R.A.I.N. members will be transported to Newport, where they can participate in a tour of “The Breakers,” the grandest of Newport, Rhode Island’s summer “cottages.”

Following the tour, members will be brought to the stunning surroundings of Belle Mer, where they will enjoy an exclusive ocean side dinner with other B.R.A.I.N. members, including brain tumor researchers, surgeons and clinicians and representatives from supporting organizations. For more information on these venues, please see below. Further event details will be provided to members directly.
